The EMCL currently has four major methodological research themes. These themes include:

• Computational Mathematics
• Uncertainty Quantification
• Hardware Aware Numerics and High Performance Computing
• IT Security

The research group aims to develop the fundamental understanding and intellectual means to model complex phenomena and, on the other hand, to provide a foundation for building new high performance technologies.  In this context, the EMCL currently has a particular focus on medical applications:

• Medical Engineering
