EMCL with a booth at ISC High Performance 2016

Following the tradition of the last years, again EMCL was present at this years' International Supercomputing Conference (ISC). The ISC is held yearly in Germany and brings together researchers both from academy and industry in the field of high performance computing.

This year EMCL was represented at a booth together with the Computing Center of Heidelberg University and the research group "Data Mining and Uncertainty Quantification" of the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (DMQ@HITS). Two 3D monitors showed numerical simulations accomplished by scientists of these institutions and gave information about further projects. A third monitor enabled visitors not only to view different simulations in 3D but also to interact with them by using a special touchless pen and a tracking solution. Furthermore information was to be had about the latest cluster addition at URZ: the bwForCluster MLS&WISO which managed to hit the July 2016 Top500 list again.
