16th SPRING conference hosted by the EMCL
April 21st - 22nd, 2026 - Heidelberg University
On April 21 and 22, we hosted the SPRING Conference, organized by the SIDAR (Security – Intrusion Detection and Response) group. Once again, the conference provided young scientists with a valuable forum to exchange ideas, discuss research topics, and share the challenges they face in conducting their research.
Prof. Steffen Wendzel opened the conference with a keynote titled “Wie das Internet zensiert wird — Perspektiven für Forschung, Rechenzentren, Bibliotheken und Gesellschaft”, setting the tone for the subsequent presentations. International participants from various universities gave short talks on the current state of their research across a broad range of topics. These included Intrusion Detection Systems, the development of CTF challenge environments, and security processes in the domain of healthcare.
We would like to thank all participants for contributing to this year’s edition of the SPRING Conference. A special thanks also goes to Dr. Marc Ohm from the SIDAR group for organizing and coordinating the event.
