From December 4th to 6th, 2024, our paper has been awarded the Best Paper Award at the annual Cyber Security in Networking (CSNet) Conference. The award-winning paper, titled “Detecting DNS Tunnelling and Data Exfiltration using Dynamic Time Warping" was presented by Stefan Machmeier who has been deeply involved in innovative cybersecurity solutions for DNS. 

The paper highlights the integration of the distance metric Dynamic Time Warping to detect DNS tunnels in network communication, significantly enhancing their ability to identify and respond to sophisticated cyber threats in real time. According to the research, the approach has demonstrated improved detection accuracy and reduced false positives, making it a game-changer for organisations looking to fortify their network security.

The Best Paper Award not only highlights the importance of our work but also underscores the growing intersection between artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, offering new pathways for combating cybercrime in the increasingly interconnected digital world.
