EMCL is contributing in SMB 2021 with a two-session mini-symposium titled “Mathematical Oncology: From methodological studies to clinical applications”

As every year, the Society for Mathematical Biology (SMB) will held an annual meeting covering all aspects of mathematical biology. Special emphasis this year will be on the impact of Mathematical Biology on Translational Science and Promotion of Diversity, Inclusion and Equality.

Further, SMB 2021 takes place in a virtual form between June 13-17, 2021. To maximize the participation of people across the world, it is held 24 hours a day.

In the framework of the initiative “Mathematics in Oncology”, EMCL together with ATB has successfully organized a two-session mini-symposium titled “Mathematical Oncology: From methodological studies to clinical applications”. The talks range from mathematical analyses and methodological studies to medical and clinical applications with a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaborations and diversity.

We invited eight international speakers from Europe and the US which are from all stages of a scientific career ranging from PhD students over PostDocs and assistant professors to full professors.

For detailed information on the speakers and the talk abstracts, we refer to the official SMB 2021 website. Please have a look at mini-symposium MS11 and MS12. We highly encourage everyone to take part in this huge conference with many interesting topics in all parts of mathematical biology!
