1st Sino-German Symposium on Uncertainty Quantification for Engineering and Industrial Applications
From 2nd to 6th December 2019, 1st Sino-German Symposium took place in Heidelberg
The 1st Sino-German Symposium on Uncertainty Quantification for Engineering and Industrial Applications has been held in Heidelberg, at the conference cent Studio Villa Bosch. This Sino-German Symposium is supported by Sino-German Center for Research Promotion, German Research Foundation (DFG) and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). This research promotion were applied jointly by Prof. Dr. Vincent Heuveline and Dr. Chen Song at EMCL and Prof. Dr. Jiawei Zhang at Xi’an University of Technology in China.
During this week, more than 30 scientists gave highly exciting talks about their current research. Various topics were discussed during this symposium, such as fast solvers for forward UQ problem, multilevel Monte-Carlo techniques, machine learning, Bayesian inference. Industrial applications as involved in different fields: smart grid, power flow, medical applications, material sciences.
