EMCL with a booth at ISC High Performance 2019
Following the tradition of the last years, again EMCL was present at this year at the 'International Supercomputing Conference' (ISC). The ISC is held yearly in Germany and brings together researchers both from academy and industry in the field of high performance computing.
This year EMCL was represented at a booth together with the Computing Center of Heidelberg University (URZ). One monitor was showing numerical simulations developed by EMCL scientists related to medical engineering and environmental sciences. While, the necesary infrastructure including a low-bugdet laptop(client), workstation(server) and a connected powermeter were used by the visitors in the context of remote visualization (RV). This was serving the purpose of showing the transfer of workload from the client to the server during RV, leveraging the RV benefits in practice. This contribution was a common work between EMCL and URZ.
EMCL was also present at the SCC 2019 and strongly involved in supervising the Heidelberg Team, by contributing in topics of power monitoring.
